21 May 11 The new Mr. B’s Education World

Mr. B’s Education World has relaunced after a short stint over on blogger.com. I did not find blogger to be adaquate to my needs so I relaunched RandallBlack.com using WordPress as my content management tool.  I have used WordPress in the past to blog and provide information out to parents and students so this leap back in will not be a difficult transition.  Please keep an eye out for upcoming updates from my graduate classes and technological items I come across during the summer.

I am preparing to do a lesson where my students will be analyzing Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech from the March on Washington in August of 1963 and decided to give my hand a try at creating a wordle.

21 Mar 11 Civil Rights Lesson Plans

Today, I came across 5 lessons that use primary source documents to help students to gain a better understanding of some of the events during the Civil Rights Movement.  The lessons each have a clear focus and provide primary sources to use during each.  I’m providing a link to these lessons so that others might be able to use them like I plan to do next week.
